Mental Health at Work

Within the compact course “Mental health at work”, participants learn about the causes and consequences of stress as well as various signs of mental stress and illness. Using a proven communication system, participants will learn how to approach affected employees and how to respond to acute crises.

Reasons to Choose This Program

More than every third person in Germany suffers from a (treatment-requiring) mental illness at some point in their lives. These include depression, anxiety disorders, burnout, psychoses and various addictions. In German companies, mental illness is among the most common causes of employee absences. The increasing number of absences caused by this kind of illness often confronts companies with major challenges. Many companies are uncertain how to respond to this development. In addition, companies, managers and employees are often not sufficiently prepared to deal with mentally stressed or ill employees.

Based on clinical practice, we know that the “wrong” way of dealing with mentally ill employees can lead to further conflicts and stress for the entire team. The result can often be further absenteeism and loss of performance. Despite this, many problems can be prevented by educating managers and employees on how to deal with mentally ill employees and how to react to the situation with the help of tried-and-tested support. A wide range of evidence-based preventative measures can be implemented in companies. “Healthy leadership” is becoming increasingly important.

What Others Say

  • Leadership is one of the most important resources to promote employees' health.

„Many leaders are still insecure how to deal with employees who are mentally urdened or ill. Healthy leadership is increasingly becoming a key qualification. Providing "the right" support for employees with depression, for example, is a major challenge for many leaders. How do I address such a topic? How can I provide Support? And what can I do preventively?“

  • Invest in the mental health of your team!

“I hope that awareness of mental health will really spread. The seminar has given me additional tools and taught me new skills on how to deal with mental health in the workplace and I hope that I can pass on as many of these skills as possible. It's important to take care of it and anchor the topic in the corporate culture, as you not only get something back in the company in interpersonal terms, but also economically. I will now go back to my company and provide impetus on how to cushion the blow, especially preventively.“

  • Mental health in the workplace is crucial for a positive and productive working environment.

„In many companies, mental health is still a taboo subject. After attending the seminar, I am well prepared for situations in which I am confronted with the topic and feel more confident in approaching affected employees. For me, the seminar was very entertaining and interesting! I took away a lot of new information, also for application in my company. The presentation is very captivating, you enjoy listening attentively!“

  • Mental health in the workplace

„The overall impression is very good. I think Simon Senner, the lecturer, does a very good job. Of course, he has the relevant specialist background, but he also conveys the importance of the topic very impressively. The exchange with the other participants is very valuable and the group dynamics are also great. The seminar gives you the right tools to use preventively in your company and to raise the importance of the topic.“
